Broad says," Chris Broad concluded that if one doesn't want to be sworn at, then one shouldn't swear

Wah! what a joke! An indian cricketer should become modern day Mahatma! Aussies will continue to instigate, provoke, swear and generally indulge in all kinds of sledging. Watson and Haddins started off sledging in this series at bangalore , at the first sign of an indian fight back( Zak & Bhaji stand). If the Referee or the umpires stepped in, things would not have reached this far.what was he doing all the while? Broad deserves an award. or still better ICF can institute an award for most pathetic comment of the month by an ICC official and name the award on Broad! he is so unbiased. http://content-ind.cricinfo.co m/ci-icc/content/current/story/376930.html appeal-Point 11.

Ian Chappell said a few months ago that ... "The more you allow to be said on the field' date=' the more likely something over the top gets said that will provoke someone to do something they might regret"[/quote'] Wisdom from Ian.:hatsoff: Applies to match officials as well. The more they are allowed to talk rubbish on the media (apart from the rubbish they do in office), the more likely some will go OTT and will make themselves look dumb and ridiculous.

^ Im not disputing the punishment. Gambhir deserved the ban. However the umpires and match referees as a general point need to crack down on sledging imo.
100% with u. lets hope the 4th test will test the umpires ability to handle the sledging.

bhaji, zaheer, gangu sehwag should join hands and target one aussie player i would go with watson. keep provoking him , i am sure by 4th day he would do something stupid.
No...you see, the beauty of it, the wearing down of the mental side is not for use....it is only for personal satisfaction....it is dishonourable to use it against the opposition see? These are the rules gentlemen play by. And that is Cricket. It is not about the smallest heart, but the biggest. Be big. Let them accuse you of all and sundry....they and you know what it's all about. Win the game outside of this, and show them...here...this is where your thinking lies. You want to learn to think?

I think what Gambhir did was right... .And he deserves to sit out.....Who pays the price?? TEAM INDIA. Now we are in big trouble of finding a replacement for a player who is amongst the top scorer of the series. Well done Aussies to get rid of 2 players for the last important game. Shame on Gambhir. If he wants to give some lip service then at least have a brain to do it in intelligent way. Now you got trashed for 1 test. Everyone else walk out happily. Crap. Bhajji, Gambhir. You just want to copy SG but SG has lot of grace in doing what he does. These guys use foul mouth when they react. SG is very very decent in his aggression. So guys grow up.

Yes thats the difference here ... Ganguly's sledging was more subtle and witty and he managed to agitate the Aussies as much as anyone else. The key with sledging is that the person that does it can not lose his cool. Gambhir clearly did. Look at Steve Waugh ... he was constantly sledging but anytime they showed his face ... he was cool, calm and collected.
