Guest HariSampath
^...remember, It was on a green and seaming wicket, and wickets were falling all around, with other batters desperately throwing their bats around....and through it all Gavaskar stood like a rock, unperturbed, full of concentration , judging the swing and seam perfectly and letting go of most deliveries, displaying such discipline rarely seen in such circumstances, for a full 60 overs, and returned unconquered with 36 runs, it was a moment of history, a knock that had experts and fans talking about it for 30 years after that, and people still do...perhaps one of the most talked about knocks in the history of the World cup. Gambit
aaawwwwgggg...come on gambo...Nazir didnt play through the entire innings ( 50 overs)...and in any case Sunny batted 60 overs for 36 notout :winky: btw...you havent refuted my point.....3 test ducks, getting out within 1st over of innings Nazir has not been dismissed thrice for 0 in the first over of an innings. And dsr, I never said Nazir batted the entire 50 overs. I said - What is common between the two is that as openers, they have managed to remain not out and score less than 40 runs in an atleast 50 over ODI match. Link to comment
Guest HariSampath
so what about getting 3 ducks and getting out within the first over that THEY faced :D Link to comment

suraj
Good effort Gambo but I agree that Harisampath's post negates the commonality can't really compare a 60 over to a 18 over knock Time to close the thread Link to comment
