PaiN_KiLLeR
Well said Cochise, we should be able to steamroll NZ even if we play them on Mars. Just need enough time acclimatise to the conditions, else we would end up continuing our ritual of losing the first test match of a series ... which puts under pressure straight away. Link to comment
cochise
Maybe Hari can have a word to Cheeka (real one) who can have a word to BCCI big kahunas who can then schedule a good lead up so that the Indian team doesn't have to go from the airport to the stadium for the first test? What say you Hari? Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Dhony dude - You are really pathetic to the core. You dont really sound like someone who is worried about India's fortunes in cricket. You are just trying to credit India emergence to just 1 or 2 individuals and you are hoping (or rather praying) that these individuals break down with injury so that India cannot march ahead with this emergence. You saying that Ishant alone is central to our succes in Bangalore, Kandy and Perth is a load of bull ****. There were other bowlers (ZK had a "unusually good game" at Blr) who contributed tremendously inthose matchs and also our batsmen. And in the current ODI series, we dont look like a team who will miss any particular player.Without Ishant and SRT, we have played and won 2 matches handsdown. So what is your motive here? More than questioning Henderson or Atherton, we have to question your pathetically sulking views about indian cricket. I haven't seen you posting on any celebration thread. Never seen you being happy about any of our Indian wins. For a better part, I thought you were an Aussie. Thats the impression you have given with your posts. And now you dig up some stupid article by some English journo, which we in India would not have bothered to even have a look. Stating it here and creating a thread to discuss the pit falls in indian cricket. As if Abdul Kalam has made some statement about India going down in the coming years and we have to act fast to stop the decline. Who the phack is this Henderson or Atherton? Why on earth we should bother about what they think and say (in anycase what they have said are a load of crap). Is it because you want to quote them and sarcastically say tht we indeed are not as good as what we think we are? If you had said it in a sense where you are truly worried about our current state and would be happy to see us improve then :hatsoff: to you. But you are just quoting them and then hoping that what they said becomes a realty, Ishant breaks his shoulder, Viru loses form again, so that our Indian team doesnt become No. 1. Isnt that your agenda? If thats not your agenda - prove me wrong by showing atleast a couple of posts of yours where you have truly cheered india and celebrated our victory. spot on Link to comment

Fontaine
Since 2000 here are the win loss records for each of the big teams ranked from first to last in terms of wins/loss record on away Tests: 1. Australia: 32-9 2. India: 20-18 3. SA: 17-17 4. Pak: 13-14 5. Eng: 16-21 6. Sri: 11-18 India are 2nd ONLY to Australia in this century in the amount of away wins we've had and have a great record in terms of wins and losses, better than any other country bar Australia. So Henderson and Atherton can take their columns and shove them up where the sun doesn't shine. As a matter of fact it the common perception is still that India don't win away outside India by a lot of people in the media etc but Dravid among others have pointed this out to journalists but obviously guys like Atherton were too busy tampering with the ball to notice. cochise
The only remedy to this canard that they employ is to continue winning away and improve that ratio even further...if India are to remove this stereotype for good, then it must dominate both home and away in the coming years. Fontaine
The only remedy to this canard that they employ is to continue winning away and improve that ratio even further. Who cares what these clowns think? Most of the knowledgeable people in commentary and media have allready recognized India (in both formats of the game) as one of the top sides in the world and the only ones capable of beating Australia in their own game. The Australians had to resort to cheating and ultimately have the umpires save them to avoid India beating them in their own back yard and this is when they had Gilly/Symonds. Meanwhile England go down under and are torn apart in a brutal gang bang to the tune of a 5-0 whitewash. :hysterical: Link to comment
King
You don't need endorsements from media from UK to know who's the better team at the moment. England has never really ruled cricket and that shows in the number of failed attempts at the world cup. Heck they haven't won any tourney that involved the cricketing nations around the world. They are never short of talking about other teams. I think it's time they get their house in order rather than look outside and as usual give tonnes of excuses for not doing well consistently.
