More than to the fans or the team, he owes that much to himself. Being a part of several great ODI victories, he just needed the temperament I guess more than the skill to come good at the Test level, and its a pleasure watching him fight it out and bat well.

If I am not wrong, Tendulkar was clearly not happy with him when he survived the 'close' call in swann's over. He lectured him good and UV has tried to keep his cool since then
