Show_stopper Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I have to say with several retirements coming up I don't see us number 1 anytime soon. I think evryone agrees that Aus won't be no.1 for sometime. We are discussing about India here however.

youngindia Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 This is what is likely to bring india to the top. "Hughes's coach Neil D'Costa has been lured to India to help out at the newly built academy. Cricket's coffers are running over in this country and D'Costa raves about the facilities and future. He is right. The disturbing thing for every other cricket nation is that Indian Premier League franchises and cashed-up state cricket bodies are building these state-of-the-art centres right across India and populating them with bright-eyed young talent. There's a suggestion that Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence is looking a little modest -- if not third world -- by comparison. " A wider talent pool with better quality of talent amd a talent scouting system that takes advantage of this wide talent pool. it will take some years. once the newer players nurture their talent,we should be very tough to beat.i can't see other nations matching us ina decade or so. their populations are way too small to be of any competition to india.
King Tendulkar Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 Plenty of self loathing in this thread:giggle:
saneindian Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 We have been the number 1 team for close to 10 months now and are likely to remain there for the foreseeable future. Pity the whiners!!
