Here after his spell of 6-0-41-0 was terminated after the 36th over, he was never brought back. Dilshan bowled a few overs at the end. Against us - IIRC, it was the third ODI - Mendis kept getting knocked and Jaya kept taking him off after short spells. He bowled something like four spells. His figures looked decent only because two batsmen threw away their wicket in his last over in the 49th over or so. (Update - facts don't quite match the memory. He bowled three spells that day - 5, 1 and 4) Link to comment

After a start like that, on an easy batting pitch, they just kept getting out. Pakistan played very well. May be they played well because they didnt expect to. Link to comment

A starving man will eat voraciously till he hurts. Pakistan has been devoid of cricket for almost a year, so its obvious theyll be fresh, SL OTOH consistently playing against the likes of Bobwes and Bungles is lowering itself not to mention exhausted.
