Unless a batsman is shameless enough to ask for runner just because he got tired and unless the opposition captain is generous enough to allow it, Anwar'srecord will remain safe. Invariably always batsmen get tired and play a lethargy shot yes if they do not have to run then that tiredness can be be avoided.
Not sure how you can say that. It's not as if Anwar's 194 leads by a country mile or something. Here are few scores made by batsmen who did not use a runner, unless you are saying those extra 5-10 odd runs suddenly become impossible to score : 189* - Richards 189 - Jayasuriya 188* - Kirsten 186* - Tendulkar 183* - Dhoni 183 - Ganguly 181* - Hayden 181 - Richards Dhoni would have certainly gone past it if Sri Lanka had scored a few more runs in that ODI - there were 4 overs remaining in the match.

He would have beaten it iif Venugopal hadn't pinched a couple of runs himself.
