It is a bad sign we lost the last ODI, the tests are gone!!

Thank you! Now should I change my moniker to Jinxmaster? :giggle:
dandaroy, Well, you truly felt that we could screw up the Tests, and kudos to you for writing it without fear of people jumping up and down on hearing a negative thing said abt the team (as you can notice, OTT positive is not a problem here and no one points out that it is hyper positive, you always find that happening, negative on the other hand - and people go up in arms). Good on you for stating what you really thought. The team did well on this series, and kudos to them for proving they can win.

Lol man..what kind of twisted logic is that ? Why will positivity be a problem to any human being ? What are you..some kind of anti-christ ?

I am not talking just abt normally positive predictions. There have been lot of instances of going overboard. Many instances: just one would be a recent one where when it was clear that draw was the best possible (and even that was difficult at one stage) in Test-2, some were saying we were going to win the Test (as late as day 5 lunch or later). Such extreme is what I am talking. Anyway - if you notice in this thread, I never said India will lose the Test series or it is gone. Because for me losing one ODI does not mean Test series is gone. However, if d.roy thought so, then he should be able to say so and good for him that he did. What I thought of Test-2 in 2nd Inn after Sehwag was out, we will lose that Test. Even then I was hoping we come back at Wellington. However, they batted out of their skin and saved the Test-2. Now, thinking India cannot bat out Test-2 maybe negative, but that is not totally out of range. It has happened many times, so that was the prediction then. I am NOT saying beat up on the people who said we will WIN the Test-2 even though it was clear we were fighting for a draw. Thats their opinion or prediction and it is fine. All I'm saying is as long as people are not abusive, they should not be mobbed for stating their predictions on how a Test or series is going to pan out. Anyway, mob or not - folks will and should still state what they believe without worrying about cyber-bullying. I lost the bet on Test-2, but its ok, I predicted we will not draw and team proved me wrong, and I still feel that the Draw we secured was more the exception than the norm. But kudos to the team for doing the exception here at Napier. (and there were enough people in ICF thinking Test2 is gone, lest you think its just me and dandaroy who thought Test2 is gone).

lol - no! fineleg is "I"specialist. Everything needs to be about Fineleg and it's feelings [hurt or otherwise] or expectations [ not fulfilled obviously]. Why else does it have 12K posts.

How many posts and how many different threads will you keep filling with your same nonsense that we are biased towards negativity? Does that question even make sense to you? How can you not be biased against negativity. And you're not negative, you're more than that - you are a miserable person with a pathetic excuse of 'i like perfection'. Just putting it out there. Why will I always respond to your negativity? Because you failed to praise a team that exceeded your expectations and chased down 201 to win against Pakistan, and they exceeded your expectations and chased down 387 despite your constant bickering that they would fail, and they exceed your expectations to save a test match against a nation ranked 8th.

OK salil. Let me reply to graphic, and then no more on this topic. graphic, go check my praise posts and thread when we chased at chennai - i predicted they cannot chase, but sehwag's inn gave the start, and then they chased it down. did you not read my praises when they won? i guess since i predicted they cannot chase it, you dont accept that i praised when they won. suit yourself.

Yes, I did. And even now, I'm reading it: "its an exception. not a rule. you can't trust this team in the 2nd innings."

My comment re. the spam isn't regarding your discussion w/ Graphic' date=' that's perfectly fine - it's re the one word nonsense posts.[/quote'] Oh ok, p-khota started that juvenile thing, and I should have refrained myself from jumping in to respond in kind. Sorry!

Yes' date=' I did. And even now, I'm reading it: "its an exception. not a rule. you can't trust this team in the 2nd innings."[/quote'] graphic, We've had several 2nd Inn day-4/day-5 type collapses. Now, we are starting to see us play better on last couple of days. So, it has been exceptions. More of these kind of fightbacks and chases we see, then they (fightbacks) will become the rule, and collapses will become the exception. Good consistency in the recent past. Hope that continues going forward.

Ok, then, that begs the question: IF you are so used to your team collapsing in the 4th innings, how come even when they win (not just play out) the match by doing well in the 4th innings, I get to see "Oh, its an exception" instead of "well done boys. keep this up." And we've done pretty well in the 4th innings for a while now.

Like I said above - maybe you replied before I completed that: "Good consistency in the recent past. Hope that continues going forward." And, yes - I have congratulated and celebrated those wins. Just that I am a bit wary not to get too excited that the team has turned it around, and then only to see that it was a temporary high phase. So, I hold back that a bit. I do hope they get consistent in fighting back (like they are doing in the recent past) and the collapses are indeed rare (yes, collapses will happen to any team - I understand, but as long as the fightbacks are more often, then that is good).
