Zap_Brannigan Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 The 1st time I went grocery shopping in US, the store was about a 15~20 minutes walk(one way) away. I get the regular grocery including canned vegetables,2 litre water and coke bottles and went up to the cashier. The cashier rung the items and asked me whether I wanted “Paper or Plastic”. Thinking that she meant “Cash or Credit card”, I said Plastic as I wanted to try out my new debit card. Only after a few more trips to stores did I realize that she meant bag type when she asked “Paper or plastic” that day and what an awkward and difficult walk back it would have been if I had decided to pay with cash that day. You had any?
fineleg Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 There was a thread talking about this where people posted the experience. Search does not bring that, if varun can help find that :D
suraj Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I used regular dishwashing soap instead of dishwasher liquid/tabs when I used the dishwasher for the first time in USA. The whole kitchen got flooded and ran angrily to the apartment office complaining abou the "crappy" dishwasher. Apparently many desis had done this before me because she knew the cause- we laughed about it & it was embarassing too ( plus she was super hot)
