Sachinism
http://content.cricinfo.com/magazine/content/current/story/395905.html Great batting from him, but his bowling against quality sides is poor I've always rated him highly but damn, big difference in his performance against weaker teams and stronger teams. I guess stats don't mean everything, but he didn't really trouble the Indian batsmen that much today either. How good is he really? Link to comment
graphic23
Neither Sachin nor Dhoni were able to score freely from that end. He was bowling well. But I think he underbowled himself a lot and was very defensive with teh field settings when he was bowling. Link to comment
Sachinism
He may have kept the runs down, but he wasn't troubling them in any way. Didn't look like he was going to get a wicket Link to comment
graphic23
Mainly because we were playing very safely. The otherend was leaking runs, and so he didn't really build all that much pressure. The first step to getting wickets is to apply pressure by stopping the runflow, which he was able to do. Link to comment
veer
forget stats.. he is one of the best in business right now.. very admirable and competitive guy.. Link to comment
DomainK
Vettori's abilities as a bowler are limited. But he has a wealth of experience and a very wise and cool head on his shoulders. He knows his limitations and bowls within them. Never panics and can read the batsman's mind well. And smart cricketers can be more effective than talented ones. Link to comment
bunny
Some spinners tend to be better ODI bowlers than test bowlers...In ODIs you can get wickets when the batsmen is under pressure to hit. It's eaiser to deceive then. In tests you either need a stock wicket taking delivery or big turn or a helpful pitch, otherwise you can only curtail the flow of runs. Link to comment
