Shane Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Lead has changed hands ... finally, i think its a pointer to me, to stick to my books and start preparing for Saturday :((
karteekmvs Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 A new leader yet again and its Tapioca ye again. Its halfway stage and the lead is about 27 points. Katich and Sanga would prove too good against Jakati. We might well be in for a 100 point lead.
karteekmvs Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Lead has changed hands ... finally' date=' i think its a pointer to me, to stick to my books and start preparing for Saturday :(([/quote'] Actually, it was good to see that Tapioca got the lead before your exams. I bet anyone wouldn't enjoy the lead owing to the other's injury. BTW, I was a bit surprised with your team picks today: 5 bowlers when the sides have very strong batting lineup?

BTW, I was a bit surprised with your team picks today: 5 bowlers when the sides have very strong batting lineup?[/quote'] I was also thinking of quitting by this weekend, so today or tomorrow might the right day for that. SS is taking a toll on real life. Had to be at home in the evenings on all three days last weekend so as to be able to pick the team for the second matches. Today, I actually came briefly out of a meeting at 3:45 on the guise of going to the rest room to pick the team.
karteekmvs Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Today' date=' I actually came briefly out of a meeting at 3:45 on the guise of going to the rest room to pick the team.[/quote'] hahahaha... thats funny. But yeah, I agree too.. Moroever, it is really getting tough to actually enjoy the game. Simon Katich was playing a gem of an innings and I was like why doesn't he get out.
abhinav Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Enjoy the winning feeling Tapioca..its a hell of a tough job.. I am happy with my milestone for today..up at 8th now..
Rajan Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I saw someone post a comment in cricinfo that a storm was approaching Centurion' date=' but then weather.com again did the trick to me. The chances of precipitation were 0% and I went ahead with my changes. I thought a lot before making the last 2 substitutions. Oh, well.[/quote'] exactly the reason for me not to complete subs immediately after RR-RCB match. the cricinfo commentator had mentioned about the approaching storm, so i decided to reach home before making subs. as it turned out there was rain in bangalore, the resulting traffic jam and i was late by about 5minutes in subbing Yuvi, sanga, mahela and pathan. i wud have lost 80 points and gained 180 points. so, i lost out on 100 points because i cud not make the subs in time. i must admit that when there was rain interruption, i was a bit relieved that did not lose points in subbing. but as a CSK supporter, i desperately wanted the match to be completed in the strong hope that CSK wins the 2 points! Abhinav, Manoj are big movers and hats off to Tapioca for being Numero Uno! if Shane and couple of others pull out, then certainly Dinakkar has a chance to be at the helm.being in bangalore, I can meet him with a bouquet to celebrate his achievement, when he does it:two_thumbs_up:!
Shane Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 My Sem VIIIth paper starts in just over 24 hours and concentrate enough for two reasons, a.) Mumbai is playing today b.) I am worried about moving out of the Top 5 :nervous:

Gambit Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Don't listen to Rajan, Shane. He's just saying all that so that he can displace you at the top. Get your priorities straight. Winning THE ICF superselector competition on the net will bring you fame, fortune and glory. All that passing some no name exam will get you is a free supari from your pan waala.

I hope atleast the Korbo-Lorbo-Jeetbo chant can come in handy atleast when it comes to SS.

Tapioca Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I have "retired". Would have had to do that in a couple of days anyway, so this seems the best time to quit. It is such a relief to be able to watch matches as I used to :--D Doing excellently in the other SS as well - in the 72nd place out of 82 people. To have 7 English players in a match that they may win by an innings, but still pick only those who failed - that takes some talent !
karteekmvs Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I lost 700 points for making 4 substitutions today. Maybe its a pointer for me to give up too.
Dinx - the Jinx Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 match not started yet.. but it says subs not allowd
ViruRulez Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 did any of u guys sub today? I could not .. I have almost no players of the MI team in my SS team today .. the website was down for the last half an hour or more and I could not substitute :((
suraj Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 did any of u guys sub today? I did- I wasted 20 points on Luke Ronchi who gets out for a duck FML :wall: :wall: :wall:
