Re: Sachin Speaks Up wtf didn't all this come out earlier, like when something could actually have been done about it? bloody non-communicative women all these people are...get pissed at something in south africa, let it fester, affect them, and then throw the tantrum in the west indies when nothing can be done about it. i'm glad i'm not dating the indian cricket team.

Wise choice. Never risk dating a biyatch, who is fu.cked for practice by every passer by.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Classic!! Reminds me of the Inzi interview where he says Pak team feels like a porn star "White man screwing, whole world watching"!!

Re: Sachin Speaks Up No one is above criticism. But i think its unfair to single out sachin for the debacle thats going on in India's cricket. The Chappell brothers have once again gotten into "under-arming" their way. Back then, it was a match. Now its money and pride. If there is a finger pointing going on, then every one should take the blame. Its rubbish to make sachin the scapegoat for what is happening to Indian cricket. He averages close to 40 in his last ten matches. for 17 years, he has served without a single blotch to his name. He was said to have been walking in his sleep discussing cricket. He has put his hands up countless time for the team. No one can bring disrepute to our genius. Sachin is India's son. He will not let us down. Let not some foreigner tarnish the minds of countless of us again. I see another East India company forming. With Chapell and his horde of coaching staff. Will sachin be our mahatma.

Get this in your heads none is just blaming Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin is the one speaking hence he is being talked about. As for Chappell, he is a goner. I don't reckon many here back him. Just that the likes of Sachin have been sticking around without much to show for performance. As for the team it has hit absolute nadir and if you reckon the players should be untouched even after this debacle then you got to be dreaming. Players are twice as responsible compared to the coach.

Re: Sachin Speaks Up thanks, will surely be posting!!!...and i know that my previous post was dramatic...but i was really anguished to see sachin speak up the way he did. I cannot remember of incidents when sachin went public against a person. He is a roger federer of cricket. The man has gone thru 17 years without controversies. Why raise issue of his team commitment now. i have never seen so much stress on sachin. I remember his comments to arun lal after the match winning century against WI late jan. It was addressed to someone else. We need a change at the coach and probably at the leader ship level too. What chappell wants : complete control of indian cricket, so that he can bring his "trainers" in. He wants no one to raise any issues. And he wants someone to be made the scape goat for every debacle.

Re: Sachin Speaks Up Has Chappel come out and questioned his attitude publicly? Did his "leaked" SMS to the sportswriter specifically mention Tendulkar? Tendulkar may have spoken a bit too soon... I doubt if the divide between the coach and the players was created overnight. Why is it coming out from the senior players now, after the World Cup debacle, rather than earlier (say after returning from SAfrica)? I can't remember any player whining during the W.Indies or Lanka ODI tours to India earlier this year. In this messy situation I can't tell how much of what Tendulkar says is genuine and how much is plain whining on behalf of insecure cry-babies. All this "India's own son" vs "foreigner" talk is nauseating. I am waiting to see the day when under/non-performing stars and demigods of India can be put on the bench and asked to sit out-- like it happens to under-performing Australian (even Sri Lankan) players of high calibre and proven past excellence. Now that Tendulkar has spoken, let's see what Greg Chappell has to say in his report. The frustrating thing is, there is a little bit of truth and a lot of fluff in what every party has to say. Forming a clear composite picture of the whole thing is a challenge. At any rate, what is clear to me is that the continued retention of under-performing and past-prime players in the team has hurt the performance of the team as a whole. I still can't forget how Tendulkar floundered in a test match against a perfectly ordinary spinner (Paul Harris) in South Africa recently- a country not particularly known as a breeding ground for excellent spinners. Instead of SRT demolishing a rookie spinner, it looked like a rookie batsman facing Shane Warne. Give SRT an all-expenses paid sabbatical and ask him to come back (to test matches only)- for the team's sake the money's worth it.

Re: Sachin Speaks Up Very good post aghia82, asks some very valid questions. Nice articulate writer you are, you should post more often :wtg: I think Sachin is in the firing line from all corners simply because he has choosen to speak here. I can speak for myself and I confirm I'm not singularly targetting him. Wondered why Rahul Dravid or Anil Kumble has not been targeted here? They haven't a word about the coach, team composition et al and rightfully they are spared the tough questions. "What goes on tour must stay on tour". Unfortunately the players haven't heard this old adage.

SRT has a better avg than Gilly in the past 10 matches or so ..... I dont see any calls to drop Gilly... Vaughan .... enough said DPMD .... again enough said ... Only exception is Atapattu ...
BB, I have been one of Tendulkar's hardcore supporters but time has come for him to rediscover his game. The manner of the discovery may be left to him, but brining in last 10,20,30 matches etc. cant overlook the fact that he was partially responsible for our early exit and should bear the responsibility.

Re: Sachin Speaks Up these guys are indeed acting like drama queens. "nobody cared to see how we're feeling" oh boo hooooooo. you think i didnt empathize? i was 5 meters away from you players when you lost and guys broke into tears. when all these reporters came across our group with all the facepaint and placards and the haertbreak writ across our faces they were looking for soundbites to incite ppl back home - but we refused and said we will take this loss in our stride, to stay positive, and for fans at home not to overreact. this line of thinking from SRT is an insult to me. thats alright, but what i cant accept is this childish nonsense "we were such a cute happy family before Chappel came" - yeah right thats why we follow you - to see if you end up a happy family. i mean this is pretty much proof isnt it of this self-protecting mentality in the team. team be screwed we need to stay in the team whatever the results and training methods and standards. and i cannot stand this sh*te about how there was insecurity and fear and all this garbage. are they looking for excuses for the loss? like "Chappell didnt talk to us for 3 days". what rubbish as if we will buy this? as someone has said already - is that the reason for losing 5 wickets for 2 runs vs Bangla? you lost. that's it. i, a fan, can deal with that. but not all this trash.
