It seems that the Super Eight formation will take place based on pre-assigned seedings. So even if Australia finishes 2nd in their group they will be treated as #1 (in which case India, Australia, South Africa and England is the Super-8 group that we can expect).

Makes commercial sense..so that people know which matches in super 8 involve the team they want to see. Something similar was done in (50-50) WC-07...when the expected match between Ind and Pak turned out to be between Bang and Ireland..:hahaha:
