Is 2011 WC....last ODI WC ?

With 20/20 gaining popularity so quickly!! it is hard to imagine ODI sustaining that fan base.... Comparison: 1. More cricketers are gaining T20 experience and the matches are becoming multi dimensional instead of just slogfest. 2. New rules, new challenges.... as we have seen in IPL....a team can't win just by slogging from ball 1.... also the game can change at any moment. There are also middle overs where teams have to rotate strike and take it easy. Lots of strategy and back strategies involved 3. T20 is a big money maker...ie: Champions League, IPL (domestic tournament being played in another country with almost full house on average per game shows the popularity of T20/ franchise based sports) 4. ODIs are impractical these days. People don't have time or patience to watch a game for 7 hrs with 45 mins intermission in the middle. You need to take a day off from work every time your favorite team plays. In comparison T20 is 3-3.5 hrs and is perfect for any age. 5. Introduction in Olympics will give T20 and cricket in general global attention and no longer just a few colonial countries will be in charge. It will become a global sport like soccer... which means bigger competition and more excitement and money. What do you think?

Nope. Bilateral tournaments might phase out but ICC tournaments will never. They are the only way for ICC to make money.
