Guest Gunner Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Thanx :icflove: The hits just keep on coming this year. First a friend my own age died in a car accident back in Feb, then my 16 year old cousin from cancer in July, now this. But there are good things too! Another cousin had a baby (which makes me an official adoring aunt) and got married, and two more cousins are getting married in Desember. Guess now's a good time to focus on the positive The death of a loved one is replaced by a new life. Your loved ones live on through others. I atleast like to think of it that way. :icflove:

EnterTheVoid Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 It was 'Industrial Day' today, our project, the one we have been working on the whole phucking year, was finally on display My supervisor is grumpy old fart. Today he seemed especially grumpy :nervous: Finished the project. Now, finish the report, finish the research paper and get the phuck out of here. Don't look back. Hoping all goes well

Malcolm Merlyn Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 It started out as thyroid cancer' date=' but then it spread to other parts of his body.[/quote'] so sad........cancers can be so unpredictable.....
Riley's Girl Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 so sad........cancers can be so unpredictable..... It's moments like these that I doubt NOT going into biochemistry and its related fields. Maybe I would have had the opportunity to be involved in finding some of the answers that would help, if not our genration then future ones, beat the disease.

Maybe I would have had the opportunity to be involved in finding some of the answers that would help, if not our genration then future ones, beat the disease. Relax. Everytime when something bad happens we always think how could we have changed that? Usually there is nothing we could have done about it.

Riley's Girl Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Relax. Everytime when something bad happens we always think how could we have changed that? Usually there is nothing we could have done about it. Logically, I know that. Emotionally, it's easier to think you could have done something than to accept the inevitible.
Guest Gunner Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Logically, I know that. Emotionally, it's easier to think you could have done something than to accept the inevitible. I understand that. I don't want you to blame yourself for something entirely outside your powers.

Time to face the facts right? There's a part of me that's glad he won't suffer anymore. And then there's the selfish part asking 'Why'. But I've dealt with death often enough to know I'll handle it.
