India to play South Africa in Ireland April 13, 2007 11:20 IST India will play South Africa in a three-match, one-day international series in Ireland in June, BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said on Thursday. India's original opposition for the series were Australia, but Shah said that was never finalised. "We were in discussions with everyone, including Sri Lanka. We played against Australia (in Malaysia last year) so we thought we'll play against South Africa now," he told Reuters. Shah said the dates have not been fixed yet, but would be in the last week of June. India will also play Pakistan in a one-off, one-day match in Glasgow before heading for England in July for three Tests and seven one-day internationals.

Re: India to play South Africa in Ireland I guess Ponting's words were respected by the looks of it. Ponting had mentioned they were playing against India far too often and now Australia wouldn't want to schedule another short series. Wonder if Indian board will listen to the Indian captain  ?

Re: India to play South Africa in Ireland

Whats with this craze of playin in a neutral venue ??? Are thes guys ONLY interstd in makin money ? :chin:
The reason that India are playing South Africa in Ireland is that we are playing England in England. So we might aswell play them at Ireland, if both teams agree. We are playing Pakistan in Glasgow becasue, Pakistan are playing England for 1 twenty20 to repair finacial problems after the test match at the Oval was abandened. So they thought it's going to be stupid, going to England only for 1 twenty20 so they thought while India will be there we might aswell play them. This is a great idea, as both teams are useless playing on bouncy foriegn wickets.
