sad though isn't it that politics and machevillian tactics have been a major force in his reselection. sad that our indian team is run like that

Re: Star News reporting coach and cappo are consulted on team selections. so, nothing unprofessional about it. if they wanted to call and give advice, nothing wrong in that either. looks like tendulkar was roped in by chappell/RD to bolster their case with vengy. that looks a little strange, but given the dirty politics on the other side, looks like it is all even. ganguly has obviously pissed all over these guys for them to be so against his selection.

What does that have to do with anything ? Dravid was the captain in that test.

Another factor that probably came into play was, ironically, Ganguly. There was a real danger (since abated) of Rahul Dravid not being able to lead the side in the first Test, which would have left Sehwag leading a team including Ganguly. The fear was that Ganguly would then lead by proxy and with this in mind, the selectors named VVS Laxman as vice-captain.

Sehwag's ofcourse has been a strong supporter of dada. politics all around

Re: Star News reporting Our team is starting to resemble the Pak team of the 90s. Lots of infighting between strong characters. God only knows how Ganguly and Chappell with see eye to eye. Dravid and Sachin have got to act professionally and have got to make sure that India take the field in tests as a unit and not sub groups.
