Australia one-day international batsmen Callum Ferguson will be sidelined for six to 12 months after scans confirmed he had torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Ferguson clutched at his right knee after fielding a ball in Australia’s ICC Champions Trophy win over New Zealand. Cricket Australia Doctor Trefor James said: "Callum underwent scans in Adelaide on Friday and saw a specialist on Saturday. After consultation with Cricket Australia medical staff it was decided the best course of action is for him to have an ACL knee reconstruction. "This procedure is likely to keep him out of the game for 6-12 months." Australian fast bowler Nathan Bracken also underwent surgery on Friday. "Nathan Bracken had arthroscopic right knee surgery in Sydney on Friday. Surgery went as expected and he will commence rehabilitation immediately with a view to him returning to cricket during the Australian summer," Dr James said. Australia will be without a total of four key players for their seven-match one-day international Tour of India starting later this month. Adding to the loss of Ferguson and Bracken, vice-captain Michael Clarke is continuing his rehabilitation from back soreness, and wicketkeeper Brad Haddin is recovering from finger surgery.
That's a huge blow not only for Australia at the moment because he was doing a very good job for us but for him as well because in that time space he could have established himself as a regular which he pretty much was already anyway. It's a big chance for White now to step up but I'm pretty upset about this loss. 4 key players missing for the Indian tournament is not good news, because even with a full strength side you guys would be tough to beat over such a long tournament, particularly in India..

I don't think Marsh is all that good to be honest.
