ViruRulez Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 ^^ In the sports category' date=' cricinfo is ranked at no.3 :woot:[/quote'] yup.. that shows how much popular cricinfo is.. alexa ranking are based on traffic the websites receive .. the most popular websites have the best ranking and it is regarded as the most genuine ranking of websites based on traffic (though people also say that there are ways to manipulate it too).. cricinfo popular than NFL, NBA etc. shows how popular cricket is as a game (actually India has a large no. of Internet users and it also helps.. similar is the case with large US internet users resulting in good ranking of domestic games like NBA, NFL etc.) BTW you can also check ICF ranking http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/indiancricketfans.com Traffic of ICF is decreasing recently. It was the highest in its lifetime during IPL time it seems
SachDan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 ^^ Yeah. I checked that also. We still trail padosis :((
Params7 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 ^^ In the sports category' date=' cricinfo is ranked at no.3 :woot:[/quote'] The other two on top of Cricinfo are general collective sites that cover all US Domestic Sports, Soccer and Tennis. Cricinfo, is the No.1 Specific Sport website in the world. More and more Cricket watchers need to come on the internet and take part in forums and stuff like fantasy cricket. I feel there may be more cricket watchers than Soccer watchers given the population of the subcontinent alone. Here's something else : http://www.google.com/trends?q=live+cricket%2C+live+football That football covers NFL (the most dominating sport in US) and to the rest of the world, Soccer. Because of cricket's poor coverage (no nationwide sports channel covers any cricket in U.S.), the search "Live Cricket" is more highly searched for than the term "Live Soccer".
