The EMC, in order to make the starting of match threads a democratic process, is sponsoring this bidding process! Get your bids in here for India vs. Sri Lanka, Mumbai from Dec 2nd - 6th The winner of this auction will get to make the match thread for the final test between India and Sri Lanka! Starting bid: $1000000 :orderorder: Note: Bidding increments, for the moment, are $100000. The Consortiumatti will decide when the bidding period will end, and at that time the winning bid must be paid to EMC in order for the thread to be opened. When EMC processes the winning bid, a service and auction fee of 15% will also be added to the winning bid.

This is corruption. More things going the way of the rich. What about the poor? I will sure EMC.
How is this corruption? This is a transparent monopolistic market! A limited supply of something exists (right to make the 3rd test match thread) with one 'producer' (or moderation consortium in this case), so the supplier gets more market power. Learn your economics. :orderorder: As for things going the way of the rich, note that when the money is given to EMC (or forcibly taken, whichever way things turn out), EMC will then redistribute the wealth from the rich to the less rich. How is this a bad thing? :dontknow:

BB/Shane/Salil/Rajiv :finger:
BB? He's not bidding, and he damn sure ain't part of the EMC (or at least the part that matters in this forum)! Note this: http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=191158&page=4 - his empty threats to use EMC paavaarz to edit Chit Chat polls and subsequent pawnage. :hehe: Either way, in keeping with the kanedian dhokla's tradition of being pawned (not to mention his preference for keeping his money close), I don't expect him to be a major player in this auction. :D Oh, and 36 million!

what if I open the match thread without paying?:P
Threat deletion, and likely journey to amits-ville. The Consortiumatti at present recognizes Mr. Wicket as having the highest bid of $36 million. Bidding shall continue. :orderorder:
