THX_1138 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 So we suffered Rathode, Raman, even that chimp with opposable thumbs: mongia, and even tried Jadeja... When we really, desperately needed a decent opener or two, when we could really use a hamburger helper for the prime rib (tendulkar), we could not find one in a country of a motherfracking billion. now every tom, jerry and m. vijay manages to come along and score a century strong opening stand. wtf?

We always did but politics and zonal selection kept a lot of people out of the team. If it had been the same selection committee today that we had in the 90's, Ghambhir and Sehwag would have never been openers for "lack of technique"
