I wanted to use only the games which yielded a definite result to see how the win loss was distributed.
The win/loss ratio would still remain the same, but I'll bet India would have been involved in scores of draws even after scoring 450+ because they could not take 20 wickets.

Just included drawn matches into the query, out of the 68 times India has scored 400+ in the first innings, they have been able to win only 18 times! Australia have done it 82 out 135 times and West Indies 33 out of 64 times. http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;filter=advanced;home_or_away=1;home_or_away=2;home_or_away=3;innings_number=1;orderby=won;result=1;result=2;result=3;result=4;runsmin1=400;runsval1=runs;template=results;type=team

It's you guys who wanted to know about "Our Talent" :winky: I am just here to correct you guys. A mighty talented team that needed pitches like roads in NZ to win after 30+ years shouldn't really talk much about talent and domination in cricket right? When you guys throw dirt at others then you shouldn't expect anything different. :winky: And you don't have to go to Harvard to figure out who produces more talented players in cricket. India or Pakistan...just ask any cricket (non-Indian) follower...you will get your answer :--D
We don't care about your self-proclaimed talent and even most others that you mention talk about -- the lack of talent in Paki Land, not the existence of talent. And if you have the damn talent -- can your "Harvard" knowledge explain to me why you have not won a SINGLE Series in 15 Years in Ind, Aus, RSA, Wi and ENG and in 25 years in Ind, Aus, RSA and WI. Why this talent has started losing in NZ and SL also? Why this talent has Lost 11 in a row to a an Aus Side (currently led by a pathetic captain). Do you realize -- this talent of yours will have won an abroad series only in Bangladesh and that is probably not going to change in the next 5 years at least. It is quite funny you should bring up NZ -- where your talent couldnt even WIN -- where we won and that too to a side -- that was half as good as that played against India. Infact if rain did not interfere -- you would have lost it. I will tell you what -- don't bother calling your "Harvard" professors at NWFP -- cuz even they wont have answers to some real questions --- ! What a buffoon this guy is !

lol now come on....the world admits (non-Indians ofcourse) Pakistan produces one of the best talents in cricket. It's not just us but all foreign commentators/editors keep bragging about our talent and they aren't wrong either as they appreciate what they see. (stuff other than recent collapse) :winky: You guys are yet to produce a bowling talent so you wouldn't know much about it. We have produced talent in both batting and bowling department. Batsmen like Saeed Anwar, Majid Khan, Miandad, Hanif Mohd, Zaheer Abaas, Inzy, Yosuf, Umar Akmal all-rounders like Imran Khan, Razzaq and bowlers well do I need to even say anything here? Another lame thread, another failure attempted...move on, now next Paki thread plz. :--D
out of that only inzy miandad and imran are counted as greats, hope you understand what great means?else you will say afridi is legend.
and instead of worrying about our talent' date=' how about you find a decent pacer talent who can bowl 140+ consistently and doesn't break down and turn into a spinner like rest of your talunted slow-medium phast pacers! :giggle:[/quote'] we still win matches and lots of them,so doesnt really matter.Your super phaaast pacers have yet to win you a match againist australia in 15 years.
I think we were talking about individuals and their talent here so yeh that does matter. And there's no point to go on like a broken record that this person didn't do well here' date=' he didn't do well there. All those names I listed (other than Razzaq) are greats of this game so I don't feel like justifying them as there's no point.[/quote'] your definition of greats dont seem to stack up,go and check their records to see how many of them avg 50 in tests as batsman(a stat most greats are compared with) no.2 check how many of them have performed againist the top teams of that era(WI and Australia in 80s and 70s and SA and Australia in 90s 2000s) 3.Check their record away from the comfort of subcontinental pitches. then we will decide about who is great.....you would be hard pressed to find any except whom i have already acknowledged.

This is the madness personified. Afridi is a total mediocre player but look at the above pak post above, he is drooling over him. Just shows the depths pak cricket has sunk to when frankly a rubbish player like Afirdi is adored.
Afridi is adored all over the world... Just watch in australia, england, south africa... everywhere in the world... Afridi is even my favorite pakisstani cricketer by a far distance but that doesn't mean i think he is the best... We have better players than him... Asif is a showing he is a wold class bowler... Better than any of your bowlers.. o bette make a thead : How a charsi can be better than our bowlers....

Sometimes, I feel really guilty that ICF has so many bashing threads. Then, along come characters like Pak Forever and S Bond, and you begin to understand why those threads exist. That's the easy bit though. If you are really observant, you also begin to understand why Pakistan lose so much. A team's fans say a lot about the team itself.

hmmmm' date=' yes you guys have the same attitude as bahji, sreesanth, yuvraj....[/quote'] Not really. If you cast your eyes down this very page, you will see at least 5 threads castigating Indian players or praising foreign teams- "Need complete overhaul of our bowling", "MSD deserves to be sacked", "Analysis of our fielding", "Few worrying factors- bowling fielding, fitness and others", and "Are these the sign of things to come in the new decade?". That's leaving out the Bhajji thread, where an equal amount of people are bashing our number one spinner as defending him. And this is happening when our team is ranked number one side in the world in Tests and number two in ODIs. Imagine! See, that's where we differ from you guys. We are never satisfied, want our team not to rest on its laurels, take nothing for granted and prepare for a rainy day, which are all characteristics of our conservative and self effacing nation. OTOH, you guys, despite coming off the worst period in your cricket history, propping up every other major Test playing nation in the tables, have the gall, insouciance, frog-in-the-well attitude whereby you glorify your beaten and repeatedly disgraced heroes, and talk up your humiliated and underachieving side, blissfully oblivious of the fact that you are now the laughing stock of the world. Despite that...despite that, we allow you to post here. Now do you see why India & Pakistan are so different?

I concede that his following among 14 year or lesser kids is very high. I though u were talking of cricket fans
you just hae to watch aussies tadium thee days, when afridi is playing... But back to the topic... Why on an indian forum you guys ad a thread about pak batting and not about indian b bowling that conceded 296 runs against bengalis.. i think you hav enough woie to talk about pak...

Harsha Bhogle bhi Pak ke taLUNDt ke baare mein baat kar raha hai, after the Sydney test. http://www.cricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/442977.html

But Pakistan have always been more about talent than about steel and it was the latter quality that was needed here. You sensed that the result that eventually arrived was round the corner.
Looks like calling them talented losers is a euphemistic way of saying that they are talentless dumb fecks .
