Both songs are ace. Lukka Chuppi is great, listening to it with the video can be quite moving Off the top of my head Vande Mataram springs to mind as a well sung song but one of the best filmy songs is Jaage Hain from Guru -superbly sung by ARR... jmCSBadJcw4&feature=related Chitra , the female voice, is fab too- great tune all round. Rehna Tu in Dilli 6 is a good one also. (out b4 graphic23 comes up with 89437389 moar recommendations)

:headshake: New York Nagaram from Sillunu Oru Kadhal, Andha Arabic Kadalorum from Bombay, Dil Se Re from Dil Se all come to mind. But one of the best still is Mustafa Mustafa from Kadhal Desam (or for the Northies here, Duniya Dilwalon Ki). Khalbali deserves a special mention cause he modulated his voice (same with Athiradee from Sivaji). Urvasi from Kadhalan (or Humse hai Muqabla) is also awesome. Jaane Tu.. from the same film is also really good. Sakhiya.. from Alaipayuthey (or Saathiya in Hindi) is another amazing composition and song. Also, Khwaja Mere.. from Jodha Akbar. My favorite Rahman's songs are Vande Mataram and Yeh jo des hain tera.. can't top either one of those. Edit: Forgot to mention Pray for me Brother - that's pretty good too.

also since it is a Rahman thread i dont know if you guys have listened to his latest album Vinnaithandi varuvaaya. It is simply amazing, as the master says music has no language i recommend this album to all music lovers. He has tried his hand in rock music with malayalam lyrics for the first time and believe me after some repeated hearings this song "Aaromale" is one of his best numbers ever! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw_zj9JG46E]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw_zj9JG46E[/ame] as one of the comments below that video states, it is Rahmans tribute to Led Zeplin and Pink floyd! :)

Satish, I've listened to Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya several times since it released (:P I'm a big fan). But somehow, he's lost his touch with music, IMO. What was great about Rahman's music was the raw energy inserted either by the singer or by the orchestration, and both are lacking in his recent albums (barring Delhi 6) and VTV is a bit of a hodge-podge. :whine: That said, this song is pretty good.
