Sachinism
Mirpur: Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid on Monday registered the world record of most 100-plus run partnership by any pair during the second day of the second and final Test against Bangladesh. Tendulkar and Darvid have now seventeen 100-plus partnerships, one more than the Australian pair of Mathew Hayden and Ricky Ponting and West Indians Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes, who have sixteen such stands. The Indian duo's world record of most number of 100-plus partnership came after the drinks break in the post-lunch session when Tendulkar also reached his 55th Test fifty in his 164th match when he drove past extra cover for a four. Both the batsmen went on to score centuries. Tendulkar and Dravid's 100-run partnership for the third wicket came from 25.3 overs and included 10 boundaries. http://cricketnext.in.com/news/tendulkar-dravid-create-world-record/46583-37.html?from=lp :adore: :congrats: Link to comment

Ram
The only pair capable of breaking this record at the moment is the Gambhir-Sehwag duo. In the 18 months they have been together as opening partners, they have already raked up 7 century partnerships. Sachin-Dravid, on the other hand, have shared middle order slots for almost 14 years now. Link to comment

Viru and GG will have a shot since they can both be expected to shore up the top order for the next 3-4 yrs minimum. Of course you could have form slumps et al which is why it takes time to develop these type of records. IIRC Haynes and Greenidge held that record for 10+ yrs? Link to comment
