With three points in their bag, India have pre-tournament favourites Australia in their sights now, with the men from Down Under smarting from their 2-3 defeat to England in their first match. On all counts, it was a difficult opening fixture for India. A defeat against Pakistan would have been a big blow to the Indian morale. The home team, indeed, had plenty to lose on Sunday at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. Big game but Aus certainly the favs having 4-1 win record off the 6 games against India in worldcup. India last defeated Aus in 2002 in champions trophy. Aus has since clean sweeped India 7 times in major competitions. India will do well to reach 5th or 6th position max and if a miracle happens, semifinals.
