In the rankings released on Monday, Anand lost three points since January 1 to be rated 2787. Norway's Magnus Carlsen consolidated his position at the top by gaining three points and reached 2813. Bulgaria's Veselin Topalov retained the second place with an unchanged rating of 2805 while Kramnik replaced Anand at the third spot by gaining two points in the last two months to reach 2790. K. Sasikiran jumped from 83rd to the 46th spot by taking his rating from 2653 to 2686. India jumps to fifth On the brighter side, India jumped to the fifth spot in World rankings with the average of its top-10 players being a whopping 2641, behind Russia (2730), Ukraine (2689), China (2645) and France (2642).
