PONTING 16 out of 142 matches Tendulkar 13 out of 166 Lara 12 out of 131 SO even though Ponting is in a class team he has won more test matches for his team than Sachin... Now lets check the man-of-match awards wref to matches won by the team.... Tendulkar 4 out of 55. Ponting 11 out of 95. Lara 4 out of 32 Ponting is really better in this regard... but the debate will rage over the contribution of the respective bowling attacks. Also Sachin has won 9 MOM's even though India lost showing the inability of his team mates to match his performance. SO its not Sachin who doesnt win India games, its his team mates who lost it for him..... of course the present team is better than the one in the 90's and better half of this decade.... One Day Matches Tendulkar 61 out of 442 (13.8%) Ponting 29 out of 339 (8.5%) Lara 30 out of 299 (10%) Tendulklar is miles ahead over here.... Comparison based on MOM's in matches won... Tendulkar 55 out of 222. Seeing as Sachin has mostly been in teams with bad bowling line-up chances of winning MOM awards are very low. So if we strip away those magical extra points for being born in a country with a good bolwing line up, MOM awards in matches not won : Sachin - 9 Lara - 8 Ponting - 5 /End thread

COmparison based on No. of 50+ scores per innings Sachin: ....101/271......(37.27%) Ponting: ..90/240......(37.5%) Lara: .......82/232......(35.34%) In Tests.... these 3 are neck n neck... with Lara its bity bit behind in the Stats, But he is way ahead in making the Huge single inning scores

Cricket is game ruled by numbers and stats..... otherwise people wudnt go bonkers on a tendulkar 200 now wouldnt they?
