zen Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Would that be #1 ranking in tests, ODI WC win and T20 WC win? So far only India has achieved the career grand slam :hatsoff: .... If it manages to win this year's T20 WC and next year's ODI WC then I guess that would also be a calender year (in a sense) Grand Slam! Australia needs to win T20 WC to achieve the career grand slam. While some of other teams have to do win at least 2 of those.

Apart from the WC, there is hardly any international T20 games. Only when a 3 ODI series is matched by a 3 T20 series, we can say that T20 has become legitimate series. Till then, 1 one off game as an afterthought to an ODI series will not do.

It's difficult to have a test world cup so we have the rankings, ODIs work well for the media as it allows them to squeeze in more ads, while T20 is more like a multi-national event that takes place once in a while .... Getting the world title in each of the three formats is something special for every team so a Grand Slam!
zen Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Btw, Pakistan has won the ODI and T20 WC so it needs the title in tests .... While we can give WI the official #1 test ranking for its performances in the 80s and it has also won the ODI WC so it needs to win the T20 WC to achieve the Grand Slam
