suma25 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 India is looking at various options including paring down of the operations of its missions in Afghanistan in the wake of terror attacks on Indians there. Government is also planning to put all the Indians working in projects like power and road together to ensure their safety, reliable government sources said today. This follows an assessment made by National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon's visit to Kabul last week in the wake of terror attack on Feb 26 on guest houses frequented by Indians in which seven Indians were killed. Apart from the embassy in Kabul, Indian has consulates in Herat, Kandahar, Mazar-e-Sharif and Jalalabad. Clarke Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Damn what happened ? Why did we embark on the Afghanistan adventure if we did not have the resolve to take a few hits ? At the very least, we should have stuck it out while the ISAF is active and secured our assets/investments. Didn't we declare superpower ambitions by investing billions of dollars in Afghanistan, a military base in Tajikistan, along with a planned naval base in Maldives ? What credibility do we have if the country that compromises its sovereignty for some sense of security observes this ? Sure, we have to look at our priorities first .. if that was the case why bother with Afghanistan when more than half the country struggles with essentials ? suma25 Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 From what i know the karazai govt cannot guarnatee full security to our people and the security provided by our govt is inadequate. our peopel dont think its worth their risk staying there.

If security's not enough then grow some balls and improve it. Is this how we utilize billions of taxpayer dollars while our countrymen suffer :headshake:
