hari504504 Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 the most popular first class cricket in the world is the much derided (usually by non english fans) County Championship... Why would anyone deride it ?
vvvslaxman Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 the most popular first class cricket in the world is the much derided (usually by non english fans) County Championship... First class cricket doesn't have to be popular. It can be as obscure as it wants.
Serani Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Not really a suprise considering the amount of pensioners around these days.
Ultimate_Game Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 the most popular first class cricket in the world is the much derided (usually by non english fans) County Championship... I wouldn't say County cricket is "derided" by non english fans. At worst the word I would use is "indifferent", as in most of non-english fans are indifferent towards County cricket.
Mr. Wicket Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 How do you define and measure popularity? Attendance? TV ratings? Commercials?
Malcolm Merlyn Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 by interest attendance is universally low at all first class crickdt but the CC has on average 1' date='000,000 unique hits on cricinfo each year not to mention the hits on the BBC[/quote'] what is the hit on IPL???
Malcolm Merlyn Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 THE IPL is not a first class tournament. what are the hits on Indian Australian 1st class tournaments.

satyam1729 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 so we do - better test win percentage than India... Check in last 30 years. Better win % against minnows. No. 5 in test and ODI :haha::haha:
achilles Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 so we do - better test win percentage than India... There you go again :headshake: If you are the inventor of the sport and have played it for a 100 forsaken years, you have to have a good record than a team which barely found its feet until 1983. If you don't have those stats in your favor, somethings gotta be wrong with you. What you are saying is a given. And ^^^ is why.
satyam1729 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 lets see your reaction when you lose next year. Like last 14 years :haha::hysterical:
satyam1729 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 what - someone suggested that every generation of england teams was poor - so I made the obvious point - does the truth hurt? England were good at beating newly emerging cricket side. Truth hurts :hysterical::giggle::haha:
achilles Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 what - someone suggested that every generation of england teams was poor - so I made the obvious point - does the truth hurt? Check my post again. F5.
satyam1729 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 except your record against us in the last thirty years is hardly dominant. Oh really . What have you achieved in last 30 years ? Nothing. Not won a series in India for 26 years.
