thevortex
Congratulations are due to the Chennai Super Kings and to the winning captain, Dhoni. They were the better team yesterday and Dhoni was the better captain.
Zap_Brannigan
Dhoni was excellent or it looks like it only when we win. CSK had a really bad start to the tournament and a lot of blame for the should be put on Dhoni and team management. Remember that CSK were at one stage needed to win 6 out of the last 7 games to qualify to the semifinals. Thankfully the batting of raina and Murali vijay in those stages put CSK's NRR much higher than the other teams that we could afford to lose 2 games in the last 7 and still go to the semifinals. Raina, Murali Vijay, Ashwin, Bollinger, Badri had a better tournament than Dhoni.
flamy
Dhoni single-handedly propelled them to the IPL finals. After that, of course anything could happen. But, his innings at Dharamsala had enough momentum for them to roll-over DC too.
HowardRoark
Dhoni single-handedly propelled them to the IPL finals. After that, of course anything could happen. But, his innings at Dharamsala had enough momentum for them to roll-over DC too. While CSK couldn't have qualified without Dhoni's innings in the last league match, it couldn't have qualified either without Badri's innings in the same match. To take it further, while CSK couldn't have qualified without the match where Dhoni won for the team, it couldn't have qualified either without the matches the rainas, vijays, ashwins, Badris, Bollinger starred. So looking at the whole tournament, there were many players who contributed better than Dhoni. We tend to remember who contributed last and he becomes a hero, which is nothing but a mirage. The Dark Horse
The main reason behind this win is Dhoni's trust in domestic players like Vijay and Ashwin, which greatly mattered in the end-which was absent in the previous two editions.
