Going by ICF tradition of opening new threads whenever our team loses a match badly , i have hereby opened another thread.:winky:. But this thread has been opened so that we ICF members can help our Indian team overcome the greatest obstacle ever faced by any batsman from the subcontinent. The "short" ball. The short ball in cricketing terminology is defined as the ball which is pitched in the middle of the pitch and zips towards the batsman's throat or higher :nervous: As you all know, "The Dilscoop" was originally invented by the "great" Douglas Marrilier which he succesfully employed against Zaheer and co against our team. SO we should take pride in our bowlers for making that stroke successful. :proud: Our very own Indian team were the guiniea pigs in the first international trial of this "wonderful" stroke, and if any of our bowlers had taken the wicket of Marillier before he won the game singlehandedly we could well have destroyed that stroke then and there itself. But No! None of the bowler's did and the rest as they say is "history" :proud: Anyways... coming back to the topic As we have seen that our Indian batsmen cannot pull or hook properly, the time has come for us ICF fans to help the Indian team. We need to put our heads together for this one guys.. How can we help them...? did i hear that question in your mind? No? hmm ok.... All of us here may have played cricket havent we? surely you have batted at least once in your life? Did u play a short ball any time? Did you play it well? Did you... If yes..then you can qualify as apotential helper to our indian team. All you need to do is to come up with a stroke that will negate the indian batsmen weakness of the short delivery. a stroke that will make the lives our batmsen easier against the short ball. It can be any stroke...as long as you use the bat and not any other piece of equipment :giggle: SO friends, countrymen, lets us all put our thinking minds together and invent the stroke... we can then post videos of this stroke in this thread and send the best one to our indian team for international trial. The benefits will be 1. The stroke will be named after you. 2. You will gets lots of ad offers from various cricketing equipments companies who may have to invent new gear as protection from the stroke :winky: 3. COnsultancy fees and a chance to personally coach the indian team on how to play the stroke. 4. You will be part of cricketing history and will be known as the "messiah of Indian batsmen" SO come on guys... put your heads together for this one. Our Indian team is waiting for you

thanks RJ for your videos. i was thinking of inventing a "bend down + push the ball above the keeper stroke" similar to tendulkar upper cut :hmmm: more like a squat... indian batsmen who still use indian style toiles wont have difficulty with the stroke.

so? even after the pathetic performance of our team in the last match no ICF member has come up with a stroke our shahenshah cowlashers can use to overcome the short ball? How sad :(( Seems only Tendlya's upper cut can be used

These three could be a little too hard for our youngie players to learn though
Hate Manjrakar. So many times I have heard him say that Sachin does not play like that anymore. He gets surprised at every big shot from Sachin.:wall:

Manjrekar has a HUGE complex with Tendulkar. His envy of the man who came into Indian cricket when Manjrekar appeared to be the next best thing that happened to Indian cricket after Gavaskar in Indian cricket has barely ever been concealed. In fact in recent times he has moderated it quite a bit. Let Sachin falter just a bit and the man' becomes positively vicious.
