Guest Hiten. Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Hold on, y'day you had stuck your neck out in picking England as the next champions. Why the sudden dilemma ?
FairCricket Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Mahela in form , now dilshan came to form , and sanga , and mathoows , kapu . England will have to be careful here
maheshw Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 My money is on Australia taking the cup. But I'm sure Eng, SL, and Pakistan will all put up good fights. I like that there is a certain amount of unpredictably involved.
yoda Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 AUS vs ENG based on form. Don't really care who wins or loses honestly.
Zelig Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Come on Australia' date=' hoping for another '99 WC final type of crushing win [/quote'] Ur mellow has stopped marching, so will the Aussies:giggle:
Mr. Wicket Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 England must make it to the Finals & win the trophy... Don't choke guys' date=' Please. Win something for yourself. Atleast one ICC trophy. This is your best chance. May you lift the trophy and change the way the game is perceived in England.[/quote'] Dear god... a few years ago when they won the Ashes for the first time in 16 years they celebrated like madmen with open top bus parades, champagne at 10 Downing street and all sorts of other nonsense. That was a bilaterally contested trophy they hadn't won in 16 years, and the country went completely nuts. Do you really want to see them win their first major international tournament since the inception of the game, at which point god only knows how they'll celebrate (and keep obsessing about it for the next x years)? Hell, for starters we'll probably see England v. Pakistan or NZ on a DVD labelled "The Greatest Twenty20!"

Mr. Wicket Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Perhaps, though I believe the apparent apathy towards World Cups/Champions Trophies/etc is due to their consistent failures in them. I remember them caring a great deal about the '92 World Cup where they came in with a decent balanced side with a good mix of experience and youth and plenty of skill - they made it to the finals. Then lost, and since then the following WCs have been approached with excitement and anticipation in the first few days until the thrashings begin. When you're crap and generally never win, maybe it's just easier not to care.
Zelig Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 The English women's team won the world T20 last year:giggle: Colly and his merry men can draw some inspiration from them. I say, stick this pic in your change room...but don't fap to them:nono: ps; on second thoughts, the one in the middle looks bangable:sherlock:
