England or Pakistan... who will be the WT20 Champions?

England must make it to the Finals & win the trophy... Don't choke guys, Please. Win something for yourself. Atleast one ICC trophy. This is your best chance. May you lift the trophy and change the way the game is perceived in England. Pakistan has a tough S/F coming up. But its nothing new for the Men in Green in this format. The most successful team in the T20 format are up against Australia. Cross this hurdle and you are into the final. And its a clash among equals. May England and Pakistan get to the Finals and may the best team win. Coz these 2 teams need this win more than any other team. England... coz they play second fiddle to Football in their country and their command over the fans is diminishing. Pakistan... coz they get absolutely ZERO cricket in their country and their fans need it. Best of luck. Even if y'all lose, don't go down without a fight. You rock :two_thumbs_up:

England might come unstuck on the slow St. Lucia pitch against Lanka, though to be fair they have some good spinners of their own. England do deserve to get to the final though, they have played fine limited overs cricket over the last few series after sucking in the format for years. As for Australia v Pakistan being a clash of equals, not really - in the past I won't deny that Pakistan have been a strong T20 side, but their recent form has not been that great, whereas the Aussies, after being poor in T20 in the past, have just dominated it this year. Australia have fought out of some bad situations in this tournament including against the spin heavy Lankan attack, so I would back them to beat Pak again.

Achilles - You have always maintained you have a soft corner for Pakistan cricket, but even for you don't you think this a bit far fetched? Clash among equals - Tell me you were smoking when you wrote this part of the post. Australia have thrashed them n all forms of cricket this year, 3 times in T20 alone, they have decimated everybody on their way to the semi finals, Pakistan have beaten Bangladesh, and the Saffers who choked.

I think Pakisan has done well in T20's when playing Important games but to beat this Australian team is going to be very dificult, they are pleying wondrfoul cricket, their batting, bowling and fielding is world Class... Come on England!!! It's been bloody ages since they have won anything on the world stage. The slow wickets are the only thing that pakistan and sri lanka have in their favour. Aus and Eng will be hoping their top order can give them good starts and bat the opposition out of the game.

If that is what he means, then my bad. Even though England beat Pakistan in the Super 8s, I would hedge my bets on Pakistan to win the finals rather than England.

Hmm...reading it again' date=' you could be right[/quote'] @ GM... They (Eng & Pak) are equals for both have been hyperly unpredictable. Just like no one gave Pakistan a chance last year, no one gave England a chance this yr. And after being written-off after bad games in the Super 8, Pakistan came back and directly stepped into the SF's. I see a parallel there. Perhaps a course in English with Azarimanka should do you good. And maybe Karan can tag along too :hehe: @ S.Bond... you got it right. :bow: PS- The "equals" part was a running reference to my assertion about England being like the Pakistan of Europe, given their unpredictability.

i am rooting for the gora sahibs !!! but would like pakistan to go to the finals !!! but australia is stomping everyone to small bits !!!! if anyone can pull of surprise its pakistan ... but i won't be surprised to see them fold meekly as well
