EMC should come up with some kind of duckworth-lewis here. Or else we will never have a fair game. Formulate a rule and give us fair chance to play. If I get fair amount of games, I can qualify. But with this very lazy participation in our group A, it will be difficult to decide a player who qualifies for KO.

Group B is led by tdigi (B1), followed by Chargers (B2), 10DulKaR (B3) and jusarrived (B4). The top four are several points ahead of everyone else in the group, so there's no point bothering with trying to work out forfeits, etc. Group B is led by h4te (A1), Mr. Wicket (A2) and roshanrocks (A3), who are several points clear of the rest. There is a tie for fourth place in the group with BossBhai and dial_100 tied. Ergo, EMC has scheduled the following tie-breaking qualifier for the A4 spot. BossBhai will play dial_100 in two timed (5/15) games over this weekend with each person having white in one game. If the scores are 1-1 in that rubber, a third game will be played with dial_100 having the white advantage in the tie breaker (for completing more games). The winner will take the A4 spot. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Quarter finals! Q/Fs will be played as a best of 3 between the following pairs: A1 v. B4 - h4te v. jusarrived A2 v. B3 - Mr. Wicket v. Chargers A3 v. B2 - Roshanrocks v. 10DuLKaR A4 v. B1 - either Baasu or dial v. tdigi. The games will be played with a 5/15 timer, and the first two games will be played with white alternating. If the third game is needed, the higher seeded player (e.g. A2 in the A2 v. B3 game, or B1 in the B1 v. A4 game) will take white for the third game. The quarterfinals will begin with immediate effect, with the exception of tdigi v. A4. Boss and dial are expected to play their qualifying pre-QF round this weekend, and if the games are not played, EMC will make an executive decision regarding some other player's promotion to A4. :orderorder: Semi-finals will have the winners of QF1 (A1 v. B4) and QF3 (A3 v. B2) playing each other, and the winners of QF2 (A2 v. B3) and QF4 (A4 v. B1) playing each other. These will also be a best of 3 rubber contest under the same rules as the quarters. Finals will see the two winners facing off in a series of games with the first person to 4 outright wins being crowned ICL Champion.

Bets will be made available in the betting forum, courtesy of EMC's new slave betting mod, Gunner. (If Gunner is not complaint, he will be made to read achilles' posts about Murali Vijay and other Chennai selections. This is not an idle threat.) To prevent any match fixing issues, EMC requests the following: 1. Before a knockout game is played, EMC would like one of the players to post here that they will be playing so interested parties can go and watch. 2. If possible, EMC would like a neutral arbiter to be present at the game. 3. Game histories be posted for knockout matches. (For those unfamiliar, after the match click 'Email game history', then post the movelist in here)
