DomainK Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 White to move and win. It's not a puzzle, I just find the position interesting. How would you handle this one?
h4te Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 move your king to b5 and start marching the pawn to a1, with the king guarding it. Black would probably give White about a million checks on the way....
ludhianvi Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 move your king to b5 and start marching the pawn to a1' date= with the king guarding it. Black would probably give White about a million checks on the way.... pawns cant move backwards :aetsch: P.S hope i am right
DomainK Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 :haha: Its a tough one BTW because of the number of checks one has to deal with. The only safe place for the king is a7 blocking it's own pawn.
h4te Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 1. ... Rg6+ Black can force stalemate or draw through perpetual checks if White refuses to take.
h4te Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 This is a really fun puzzle. Black to move and has a very surprising mate :D HINT: Black has Mate in 3
moumotta Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 1. Kg8, Nxh2 2. Rf5 (threatenng Rg5 and Nf4, white can only prevent one) 3. Pxf5, Nf4++

dial_100 Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 This is a really fun puzzle. Black to move and has a very surprising mate :D HINT: Black has Mate in 3 1. Rf7, Nxh2 2. Nf4, Kh7 3. Pg5, Kh8 4. Ng6++ I dont see 3 moves mate here...Hate...i give up.
EnterTheVoid Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I am going to learn some strategies / tips to improve my overall game, which is in the ******ter. at the moment :mad:
Roshanrocks Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 1. Black : Rook (F4-F6) WHite king HAS to move from g6-h7 2. Black pawn: h6-h5 3. followed by rook (f6-h6) ------------------------- after black plays second move white could move his knight from e3 to g4, but Black pawn will h5xh4 again resulting in a 3 move mate ------------------------- but if after black's second move white knight e3-f5, then the mate will be delayed by one move :hmmm:
