Sachinism Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 Timely bump Anyone have any idea on the tickets?
Gunner_Mania Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I am looking for tickets too. I doubt thought if I will travel what with me going to India later this year. No info yet on the official website about tickets. http://icc-cricket.yahoo.net/events_and_awards/CWC/venue.php
Gunner_Mania Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 What time is the WC? April/May? Well, If Gordon Brown govt. thinks 33 degrees C and 60% humidity is called a ‘heat-wave’, I think you should come prepared for what you’d probably call a ‘blaze wave’… 40 degree and 85% humidity. We have propa’ summers down there mate, not the phony ones you fellas have north of the Tropic of Cancer or whatever. :D It is in Feb/Mar. You will never have a UK winter in Chennai, but it will probably be hotter than the UK summer. It will be around the 28-33 with the ever present humidity.
DomainK Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Good luck. Lets meet to watch India win the final.:two_thumbs_up:
Sachinism Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 Good luck. Lets meet to watch India win the final.:two_thumbs_up: Hopefully The problem we have at the moment is we want to see India vs England @ Kolkotta (27th Feb), main reason is to experience that atmosphere. After that the next India game we want to watch is India vs SA (12th March), so there is a 2 week gap of nothing there. I don't mind spending it in India its just getting time off work. If I want to see the England game I need 5 weeks off work which is gonna be extremely difficult. I miss that game, then only need 3 weeks off.
Gunner_Mania Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Tickets will be on sale via the ICC website www.iccevents.yahoo.com and at box offices in the three host countries in the near future. A minimum of five percent of all available tickets for public sale for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 can be purchased online from 1 June 2010. Check here for more details in due course http://icc-cricket.yahoo.net/events_and_awards/CWC/event_info/tickets.php

Gunner_Mania Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I watched the CSK-DD match yesterday and watching the players struggle like that' date=' I am actually frightened now [/quote'] The WC is in the back end of Feb and early March and not April/May as Marirs said. Not that it is going to make a huge difference, but the temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than it is now. As Sunny said on commentary, Feb/March will be the beginning of Summer while April/ May will be head on summer. As a rule of thumb, PJ - Chennai has three types of weather, hot, hotter, hottest. Jan-Mar will be hotter while Apr-June/July will be hottest, while the rest can be classified as hot:P
Sachinism Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 The match at Chennai is on 20th March or something just in time for the hottest season :((
Sachinism Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 I'll be there for the final. Holy whats the best way to go about getting tickets for the matches?
Holysmoke Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Holy whats the best way to go about getting tickets for the matches? become a VIP. :haha: Actually, the best way would be to buy them online as soon as they are available. For example, the IPL final tickets became available on april 4th.. and they were sold out in a day or so.
Sachinism Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 As Gunner_Mania said a minimum of 5% of the tickets will be available online, maximum is probably about 10%. Gonna be mad difficult to get, will have to take a day off work to sit and book tickets

(Similar to what they have abroad.. see view from the seat, and select individual seats..)

This is the BCCI who head the World Cup committee. They are as far from technology as the sky is from earth. The 5% that ICC have said at the mo is probably part of what the ICC has said should be available for international boards. Sachinism - your best bet, other than the ICC site I think would be to ask one of the ICFers in India to help get tickets.
