Gunner_Mania Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 If they can manage to do that for IPL' date=' then I'm sure they can manage it for the WC as well.[/quote'] They can for IPL because Mr. Modi runs it. Don't expect all the other Babus in the BCCI to allow him to run the World Cup.
Gunner_Mania Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 The Mumbai [ Images ] Cricket Association, which is playing host to three matches in the 2011 World Cup including the final at its Wankhede Stadium, has decided to keep different ticket rates for the three ties. At a recent meeting of MCA's infrastructure sub-committee it was proposed to keep ticket rates from Rs 2200 to Rs 3500 for the first tie, according to MCA sources. "It was proposed that Rs 3500 be kept for tickets for the Divecha Pavilion, Rs 3000 for north stand, Rs 2500 for the Vijay Merchant stand and Rs 2200 for the popular Sunil Gavaskar [ Images ] stand for the New Zealand-Canada match (on March 13, 2011)," the sources said. "These rates are proposed to be doubled for the next match between New Zealand [ Images ] and Sri Lanka [ Images ] (on March 18)," they said. Though the rates of tickets for the final, on April 2, have not been finalised, they would be in the range of Rs 8000 to Rs 15000, the sources indicated. "All these are only proposals and will have to get the approval of the managing committee which is expected to meet at the end of the month," they added. The rates of tickets for all the February 19-April 2 World Cup ties have to be forwarded to the International Cricket Council [ Images ] before they are up for sale online from June 1. The World Cup Central Organising Committee is to meet on June 1, according to Cricket Board sources http://cricket.rediff.com/report/2010/may/20/cricket-world-cup-2011-final-tickets-prices-between-rs-8000-to-rs-15000.htm

Sachinism Posted June 1, 2010 Author Posted June 1, 2010 The first phase of tickets for the 2011 World Cup in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have been put on sale following a meeting of the tournament's Central Organising Committee in Mumbai. The tickets have been priced affordably, with the cheapest costing 20 cents US in Sri Lanka, the committee said. "The prices confirm the promise we made that the tickets would be affordable and accessible," Sharad Pawar, the ICC vice president, said. The committee said that in excess of 100,000 tickets were being released for the first phase of online ticket sales. The move to make tickets cheaper comes after the debacle of the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies, where tickets were expensive and the grounds largely empty as a result. Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive, was happy with the progress of preparations for the competition. "While there is a lot of important operational detail ahead of us, I am pleased at the progress we have made to date," he said. "For example, in the next few months, safety and security aspects will be dealt with in detail by the security directorate headed by BCCI President Shashank Manohar." WTF lol
