zubinpepsi Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Guys, I was installing my new wirelss router.. and it was working. then i tried to put security.. i selected wpa2 and then in key setting i jus used my name as password. but when i try to connnect to my wireless.. it asked for key.. i gave my name.. it gave me a msg " the network password needs to b 40bits or 104 bits depending on ur network configuration and this can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 25 hexadecimal characters." I think i shudnt have given my name as key.. I shoud have used some key encryption.. I dont know what to do now... I cudnt go the setting and disable the key since i could connect to my wireless.. IT expert guys pls advice me what to do... Im LOST.... :wall:

King Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Re: Help needed- wireless encryption Use one of the website to produce the WEP key for you. I use 128 bit encryption, that is the best out there. Google for WEP 128 bit and you should be able to get the code for any string.
