Are speed guns accurate?

So, as all the hawk eye thamasha goes on :giggle: Do you guys think speed guns are accurate? Is it me or even Shoaib Akhtar's so called record breaking delivery didn't look that 'fast'? And thought the same about Tait's recent 100MPH delivery as well. What say guys? :dontknow:

speed guns are bullshit. almost impossible to take them seriously. in some parts of the world, they are 10 mph quicker, elsewhere 10 mph slower. they clock at different points of release. they should at least use guns made by the same company in every test series. then you wil be getting uniform speeds

I have no clue if their speeds are accurate or not but I so many times doubt the speeds shown. Machines probably can't be biased but honestly speaking I often feel they are little too kind with Pakistani bowlers and little too harsh with Indians... If I totally ignore speed guns results I personally mostly felt Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan deliveries are faster than Umer Gul's and now Aamir etc ... But according to speed guns same Indians remain on average around 83MPH and Gul and Aamir went 90+

Sounds like they could be 10MPH to fast afterall.
