I agree with Desi that it's not the right thing to do, though I doubt it was an attempt at tampering. One possibility was sweaty palms resulting in a wet ball. That would explain why he wanted to rub some dirt on his palms as well as on the ball. It was not like he picked up a pebble and scratched the ball. Whatever it is, the Pakistani management should tell their players the "dont"s to stay clear of such charges. Aussies need to man up and swallow it.

Actually he did rub the ball on the ground, which is strange. Have seen people rub dirt on hand and then hold the ball. But dont think it was intentional or that he was trying to tamper with the ball. Let's see how this is played out by the Aussie media.
