VRV Singh Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Tomorrow could be MSD's chance to play a matchwinning innings under pressure and add to the 7 he's played...nevertheless I hope it does not come down to that, but with 200 odd runs to get there's every chance he will need to play his part
thevortex Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 tell em why did Australia not go with 5 bowlers when they had Mcgrath and Warne. Gilly could have very well be their number 6?? There is reason for that. It takes one ball to get out for a batsman. its curtains for them. Bowler may bowl bad still can make a comeback with good spell. Very good point. But on these featherbeds, I repeat the question - why are we going easy on the batsmen but not giving any leeway to the persevering bowlers?! It would take a miracle for India to save or win this Test. It would be too simplistic to say that a 5th bowler would have done the trick. However, that is something to consider. Playing an extra batsman is and always has been a defensive tactic.
