85 in first test match saving 203 in second test 41 in the first and a vital 54 in second inning which definitely helped the indian win. Getting better and better with age................:hatsoff: Can he play through all of next year??? I really want to see another performance in England and Australia.

That is an amazing stat...........I bet his average was good during the Eng 2007 and Aus 2007-2008 too. The only poor series he had since the WC 2007 was the last SL tour in 2008. Even the home series against Pak in 2007 was decent. So since WC 2007 he has phaacked up only once. :omg: A true champion. He is sick right now, just plain sick!! :hatsoff::hatsoff:

So does this put to rest the myth that Sachin chokes when India needs him to fire to win??? I sure hope so. In the last 2.5 years he has been behind a majority of Indian wins, either with 1st innings or 2nd innings scores.

should have had a century in the second innings of the first test, and that did cost us the match. furthermore, he was all set for a century in the third test's first innings but a lapse of concentration almost jeopardized our series. furthermore, he did survive a drop in the last innings of the third test, but did not really capitalize on it. apart from these three blemishes, he had an absolutely brilliant series, 390 runs in 5 innings is no mean feat. i was hoping that he had scored the 500 odd runs that he needed to get to 14K, but i ll settle for an average of 78. his average has gone past 56 and now only sangakara averages more than him amongst contemporary test cricketers. he does owe a great thanks to relaxedman because had the later not deflated the srilankans as he did in the final innings, in possibly his second best century ever, we would all have had resented tendulkar for not leading the charge to victory. i do wish he was going to be around for the ODIs, would not hurt to see him get another 300 odd runs in the four or five matches that india would be playing, nor would it hurt to see him pummel murli. btw, did anyone catch a glimpse of him after we won the test? he high fived mithun with such enthusiasm that one would have believed that it was not some team that had just won, but a father was rejoicing at the success of his favorite son! he is a true patriot. love the guy!

Considering that he only plays series consisting of 2-3 matches while Ponitng, etc play series of 5 test matches each, not very surprising
