agree that Yusuf is a better option than Jadeja' date='but cant see how hes better than Irfan.Yusuf can only slog.he cant stabilize if we lose early wickets.plus we have spinners as part timers anyway,so why not have a seamer as a 5th bowler?[/quote'] Yeah, I would have Irfan too but the selectors have pretty much ignored him even when we have such limited fast bowling options.

I would rather have Yusuf Pathan in the ODI team. His bowling was no worse than Jadeja's but at least once every few matches he would come in a put in a 20 ball half century. We need impact players, not mediocre guys like Jadeja. He seems a good cricketer but not in the international level, especially because he has absolutely no slogging ability. Especially playing in the subcontinent Yusuf Pathan is probably the best we have as the all rounder and he can share the 5th bowler duties with Sehwag/Raina.
Yusuf Pathan : 37 ODIs, 376 runs, 2 50s, 21 wickets, ER 5.75 Ravinder Jadeja: 31 ODIs, 518 runs, 4 50s, 26 wickets, ER 4.87 Both of them have been equally bad. Jadeja at least has batted and bowled better than Yusuf who has done zilch in his international career. Hopefully Ashwin gets to play in place of Jadeja and can do better than these two.

I hope Ashwin will replace Jadeja. But Selectors have an option to replace Jadeja with Irfan pathan. Irfan is most suitable all-rounder in sub-continent. Why not selectors try him? If Sachin comes in he can replace Rohit. But we don't have a player to replace Yuvraj.

I think we should play with 7 batsmen and 4 bowlers. Sehwag,Yuvraj,Raina can do the job of 5th bowler.they have the ability to take wickets as well.

Forgot About These Jokers And Bring In Surabh Tiwary' date=' The Next Msd!![/quote'] He is not proven at international level but i agree he showed alot of potential during IPL and also got good scores during the recent india a tour to England. India has a history of giving young players a chance and I would not hesitate to bring him in the team ahead of Jageda or Yuvraj should he continue performing poorly.

the genius of dhoni is amazing,he picks 2 left armers in ojha and jaddu and bowls them in tandem at a critical phase when another wicket would have derailed the kiwi innings.i am constantly amazed by some of his tactics.

Sachin? You serious? You think he'll be used as a part timer? BTW Yuvi is more than enough for what Jaddu does. Variation on cards alone won't do when he's bowling absolute crap. At best what he can do is to dart them in, that too if we're lucky enough. So basically you need a part timer who can neither bowl or bat?
MSD - "Jadeja needs to contribute more with the bat". I think the team management is looking for a bowler who is also a decent batter, like Bhajji. As for Sachin, its a bit surprising that "The Man with a Golden Arm" isn't given an opportunity to bowl frequently.
Piyush Chawla got reasonably good chances' date=' and didn't utilize it well. Ojha is by far our best spinner now, I would either play - Ojha, Bhajji, Zak and Nehra, or maybe even Irfan. He can not only slog but also bat sensibly according to the situation. [/quote'] Irfan is good. But he's a part-time bowler these days :((
We don't need once in a bluemoon innings, he needs to keep scoring consistently if he wants to keep his place. And BTW Yusuf is not even in the picture.
Raina wasn't too, before he came back. Most recently, he's also captained the team and is a permanent member, despite having a suspect technique against the rising delivery. I don't see why Yusuf won't come back.
Forgot About These Jokers And Bring In Surabh Tiwary' date=' The Next Msd!![/quote'] Robbie & Yusuf are better strikers and players than Saurabh.

Robbie yes cant believe he isnt being picked, but Saurabh showed during IPL that he has the ability to clear the boundary same way as Yusuf does but inconsistantly. He might be another flop but deserves a few goes, got a good feeling about him.

Saurabh is young and he needs to get settled in the domestic circuit first. Its only in the domestic championship that the true calibre of the man will come on display and give himself and the selectors enough confidence to get picked in the XI. Come September-October, Ambati Rayudu and Shikhar Dhawan are going to have an awesome chance of making it to the squad.

I think it is more a case of he doesnt want to bowl than not being given an opportunity. Frankly I just don't understand the logic in going to him for everything. I am surprised nobody has yet said we could use him as a wicket keeper.

Your forgetting Tendulkars big should injury and also his tennis elbow?? Id also like to see him bowl simply due to the fact that its a case of "wow the greatest batsmen ever is now bowling" but in reality Shewag woud be far more effective and its not worth risking any injury for.

The Wall's done that too. :isalute: What a generation of cricketers we've had.
