Guest Gunner Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010  What an idea sirji. Is that how shallow ur argument is ? Indian Intelligence agencies monitor threats such as Dawood & criminals such as Quattrocchi on foreign soil, u think they wouldn't track international passenger and network traffic ? Do u know about the fact that there were specific intelligence warnings before 26/11 and that the Taj & Oberoi had ignored police warnings ? Where do u think these warnings came from, there has to be intercepted communications which played a role. BTW do u expect the Maoists, the ULFA, the Indian Mujahideen, the Babbar Khalsa or the dozen other domestic terror groups to travel or make calls abroad to discuss how to attack the Commonwealth Games or some local police station ? I know the idea of freedom & privacy is very important in a democracy and all of it goes for a toss when one encounters the unconventional threats to the existence of the system. What India and some other nations face is not the Waffen SS & the Luftwaffe on an open battlefield. The enemy does not have a face or a uniform and does not announce when/where/how hard it shall strike. The thousands of daily deaths are not the norm, a single attack can send a thunderbolt down the nation's spine. These events can cause massive social turmoil, affect the communal harmony, economic growth can be hit massively, international relations go bizarre followed by wars. Does a society have to endure all this ? Let it decide for itself. When USA passed the patriot act, did it turn into a fascist society until 2006 when some provisions were rolled back ? How are you different from those right wing hate mongers who bring up pictures of Obama as Hitler (as u suggested Heil Hitler) when basic healthcare reform was being discussed in the country ? Intercepting is different from systematically monitoring and reading public email. I am sorry, I dont know when you came to India last but try opening a bank account here and let me know how that went. The rest of your post is white noise.
Clarke Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Intercepting is different from systematically monitoring and reading public email. Another gr8 idea sirji. The problem being terrorists do not comply with ur standards on voice and data communications. Hell, what the intelligence agencies caught earlier was using draft messages as a means of communication. How on earth do u intercept communications that does not involve voice calls or sent emails ? I am sorry, I dont know when you came to India last but try opening a bank account here and let me know how that went. The rest of your post is white noise. The white noise was in response to ur revolutionary idea which the CBI, NSC or RAW didn't know of.

Please contact the 7th directorate of the KGB for expert advise on that. By eavesdropping on the blackberries you ain't gonna stop any terror attacks but for sure you can feel warm and fuzzy over what your government is doing for you.
Guest Gunner Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Your views are as simplistic as achillies except that it's on the other side of the fence. All you've blabbered about is some vague reference on "fundamental principal (sic) of democracy". Where does this fundamental principle of democracy derive its legitimacy from? Does it exist outside our Constitution? Is the Indian government obliged to submit to this supranational, transcendental "principle of democracy" in disregard to its Constitutional obligations? Thanks for pointing out the typo, that was about the only thing meaningful in that post. How about you take a position before you equate my IQ vis-a-vis achilles or question me on constitutional law. How about that Mr. Big swinging dick?
Guest Gunner Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 I see. All hot air and no substance. One tight cockslap from Mr. Big swingin' dick did the trick. :hysterical: This, :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: You should be the one saying that:hysterical: after still being unable to take a position. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
Guest Gunner Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 OMG! You actually have an opinion? That too on an online forum? Aren't you the next dodo! Still no answer to my three questions. I beseech you, please enlighten me on the "fundamental principles of democracy"! Ok I got no time to waste on you. When you take a position on this let me know beetch. I have seen you around the forum so I know what you got, bring it when you are ready.
mastana Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I appreciate the view expressed by both of you and as you can see flamy also supported what you said. However any forum which has achilles as a member can only be just about this smart. The GOI has basically broken a fundamental principal of democracy in the free world but heyyy who cares about all that. Letzz kill dem evil pakizzz by spying on our own people. HEIL HITLER!! And thats the bottomline....... :hehe:

ViruRulez Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Not a big matter IMO .. I dont see why blackberry should not allow it when every operator allows it .. anyways it is not as if they would be complaining about you sending something to your girlfriend
achilles Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Not a big matter IMO .. I dont see why blackberry should not allow it when every operator allows it .. anyways it is not as if they would be complaining about you sending something to your girlfriend The Indian government's point seems to be - "If you are bending backwards to accommodate America's request to access the servers, why not ours?" Blackberry will always deny that they have made an exception for US and a few countries here and there, but this elitist mindset of assuming they can do whatever they feel like in India and get away with it should change. Blackberry is not going to take responsibility if their BBchat services are used to plot and execute terror attacks. So why not comply? Nokia is willing to setup its server in India of their to-be-launched Push-Mail service. If they still wanna play hardball, ban the darn thing.
billyy2288 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I think if someone has so much problem with the government actually growing some cojones for a change' date=' he/she can consider not using the device or migrating to Scandinavia.[/quote'] I also think so.
