IKnowU Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 AUSTRALIA is this morning expected to announce it has won agreement for the creation of a cricket one-day international world championship league. Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland, who has been pushing for greater context for international cricket, received applause from Australia's players this morning when he made an announcement to them at a camp at Coolum. CA is expected confirm the details later this morning. However it is believed the announcement may surround the brokering of a deal to add spark to 50-over one-day international cricket. Sutherland had been pushing for a league style table to give meaning and context to the many one-day series that are played around the world. The proposal would feature a finals system and the points table would give importance to all of the one-day matches, some which are currently meaningless. http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/australia-wins-approval-for-one-day-world-league/story-e6freomx-1225909229732 :omg: When was this happening? It came out of nowhere.
yoda Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 makes sense. need to have these games count for something.
cowboysfan Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 way to miss out on the obvious, the way to make odis more meaningful is to not play meaningless games like this tri-series right now.
achilles Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Its is an Australia newspaper. I wouldn't consider it to be truth until CI or ESS covers it.

achilles Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 :hysterical: Its a Australia newspaper............a billion times more credible then anything thats put out in India. *makes a quick scan of the internet and comes across a million rubbish articles about Harbhajan and Indians from the infamous Sydney-test fiasco* The point is, an International cricket website of high repute, hasn't covered it yet. This may be the kind of hearsay we read across some Indian websites too. There is no need to get into a comparison about it.

Cricinfo just gets it late always because their correspondents arent as active in Oz as they are in other countries. Whats in it for the newspaper to make a such a claim if it was fake especially about cricket in middle of rugby/football season? *makes a quick scan of the internet and comes across a million rubbish articles about Harbhajan and Indians from the infamous Sydney-test fiasco* Oh please......the media just returned the favour after the indian media got their knickers in a twist.
The Outsider Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Everyone is running around like headless chickens! Now league system ODIs!
