Zal Irani Cup, 2010-11

The only hint of movement that there was, it was early on and Dhawan bowled with a lot of heart and got Mukand out playing on the up. And then Badri missed an angling delivery which crashed his stumps. Yuvi started with a well timed boundary but was caught off guard playing a fuller one from Dhawan. All Yuvi needed to do was survive the initial 20-30 balls and it would have been easier after that. Really missed an opportunity here. Next assignment : Challenger's trophy Parthiv and especially Kohli played with a lot of class. IMO, Kohli should be ahead of the others in line for the Test spot if and when it becomes available ahead of Pujara and others. But its better that he is playing these matches rather than just warming the bench. Plays well against both the pacers and spinners. Played with ease and timing and unlucky getting out trying to smash a long hop. Deserved his century.

Np speed guns for the Irani match on Neo. Have to say, all Dhawal did was get an inch or two of swing and that had the batsmen in trouble.
Send our batsmen to play county cricket. Otherwise they will pile up huge scores on pattas, and struggle against good pace bowlers in slightly helpful conditions.
Another jarring thing was the standard of fielding. Extremely poor effor on the field from both the sides.
:banghead: Real problem with our cricket. Need some good fielding coaches at grassroots level.

Looks like they have got the speed gun on today. Speeds of the various bowlers Mithun- Hit a high of 134 kmph with an avergae of 128-129 kmph Unadkat- Hit a high of 131 kpmh, was bowling at an average of 126-127 kmph Yada- Hit a high of 136 kmph, avergae of around 128-129 kmph To be honest, Yadav was surely bowling quicker than what the speed gun was showing. Ball was surely going to Parthiv quicker than it was for Mithun or Unadkat. On such a dead wicket, can't really the blame the bowlers for not going flat out. They know they will have to bowl a lot of overs here.
