Is Gandhi an "an apostle of peace" ? Or is he just another selfish leader ? Views can differ. Love him or hate him, you can't ignore him and his principles and ideologies.. :isalute: father of the nation

He is reduced to an excuse not to work for an entire day. Seriously, leaves are granted on this day to allow people celebrate his birthday. Does it not sound ridiculous? I mean how many Indians actually go back home and remember him or literally celebrate his birthday so much that they need a whole day off from work? When you shut down all offices for a whole effin day, that is a wastage of a huge sum of money that could be used to feed many starving children. Gandhi himself was a karmyogi and believed in working and we sit back and stop all work on his birthday. Thats an insult to the great leader. MKG has been reduced to a holiday, to pictures on the walls of government offices and even though the man was extraordinary in many ways, what we are doing today on his name is a liability on this country.

Whatever the views Gandhiji was the best political leader ever to stepped on this earth .. if today's politicians can even follow him 50% then this nation would have been a lot better .. he was the person who taught then we can also fight through non-violence and peace .. no other leader has ever done that :isalute: the father of our nation

dk your views did't showing any respect to bapu' date='[/quote'] I dont think I disrespected bapu at any point. My outburst was directed towards the present practices on his name, not the man himself who I admire.

It doesnt affect their productivity, in fact it increases it. I actually support more holidays based on nation as a whole than religious ones like the US
