Online Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 I can see why his UVness is being hailed as selfish but I would rather have a fit and in form UV over a win in a Irani cup game. Yes, it's selfish and a narrow minded perspective.
fineleg Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 The 1st Inn lead based rule for domestics is the culprit here. They should change this rule. There is not much incentive to win the match outright!
Ranjha Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 MM has the most sensible post in this thread and gunner got the biggest BS of a post.
DomainK Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 He is batting well. He has always been a good LOI player. But it will be very difficult for him to get his test spot back.
Gunner_Mania Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 and what again was the point of bumping this thread?
Ranjha Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 and what again was the point of bumping this thread?Cuz I read it for the first time today...why is it bothering you?
gaurav92 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Does anyone know that background of this game? ROI were 394 ahead and instead of making Mumbai follow on, his eternal UVness decided to bat again since ha had scored only 4 in the first innings on a deck where R. Ashvin had managed 73. Then his eternal UVness proceeded to "destroy" the Mumbai attack which had already bowled some 200 overs. Indeed a fourth innings target of 800 runs was absolutely essential to save the game against Mumbai. Now all of you hail the UVness Spot On Goona there.I agree with you, actually he was being selfish there :headshake:
DomainK Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 This was a premature bump. Yuvi again showed that flash of lapse of concentration that has led to his fall in tests so many times. He will continue to be a good performer in LOI cricket, but he will have to be exceptional to make a come back to tests.
Hindustani Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 He is batting well. He has always been a good LOI player. But it will be very difficult for him to get his test spot back. UV has no place in Test matches, he better stick to ODIs, his position is not even permanent in ODI :--D
Ranjha Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 UV has no place in Test matches' date=' he better stick to ODIs, his position is not even permanent in ODI :--D[/quote'] Yuvi not permanent in Odis? Who is better odi bat except sachin than him?
Andy Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Yuvi not permanent in Odis? Who is better odi bat except sachin than him? On Current Form Raina.
Hindustani Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The one and only Hindustani :cantstop: alright, :--D see my line of thought was Veeru, Sachin, Gambhir in top 3 X as no.4 Kohli, Raina and Dhoni as 5,6 and 7 Though it does look that for the moment, UV will be the preferred choice for #4
