Best not out innings from an Indian in a winning test?

Samer Dighe's not out knock in that chase vs the Aussies in the Chennai test to clinch the series also deserves a mention And there was a76* from Sehwag to win us a test vs England at Mohali. IIRC we had about 2 sessions to score these runs on a very difficult day 5 track. But Viru absolutely murdered the English attack and we won by 9 wickets with nearly a session to play!

I have this feeling the OP was looking for not out innings from the fourth innings of a winning test, in that case SRT's innings at Chennai against Ingerland and Laxy's innings the other day would rank amongst the best I have seen live :D

Kapil's 100 of 95 balls against Holding, Marshall, Roberts and Garner. I wasn't born till a year and half later but the scorecard tells me we were up the creek. Sachin's match-saving 119 n.o. in the FOURTH innings at Manchester was phenomenal both in its quality of strokeplay and the context. For me, the list would be Kapil's 100 against Windies / Sehwag's 201 against Sri Lanka; Sachin's 155 at Chepauk, 1998; Sachin's 103 at Chepauk, 2008; Sachin's 119 at Old Trafford, 1990; Laxman's 73 at Mohali, 2010

I looked at the scorecard of the match which you mentioned (Kapil's innings) but I wasn't really impressed much. I think, by the time Kapil had come to bat, match was already petering out to be a draw. From scorecard, I understand he would have come at fall of fifth wicket and that time India was already well placed at 5/325. India's lead was already more than 100 runs and I guess total time left would have been around one session (or may be even less than that). In that situation Kapiil might have been cautious to begin with but within few overs match was as good as over and then Kapil made merry. I don't think it was that crucial knock to save or win test match.
